About the Press

About Scientia International: Global science in open access.

Scientia International is a scientific and technological startup dedicated to the democratization, internationalization, and protection of academic production. Based on the principles of open science, multilingualism, and editorial innovation, we propose a new model of scientific communication — ethical, accessible, and decentralized — capable of connecting researchers, educators, and institutions on a global scale.

Our mission is to make scientific knowledge widely accessible, overcoming linguistic, financial, and structural barriers that still hinder the dissemination of knowledge. We envision a world where high-quality scientific information is free, collaborative, and multicultural, driving human progress and cognitive justice.

Scientia is structured around four integrated pillars:

- Scientia International Press (publishing of scientific books and journals)

- Scientia International Journals (network of trilingual journals with open peer review)

- Scientia International College (continuing scientific education)

Scientia International Press

Innovating in scientific publishing

Scientia International Press is the scientific publishing division of Scientia, responsible for the publication of bilingual digital e-books and a network of multilingual scientific journals, all in open access. The press operates under an inclusive editorial model that promotes linguistic diversity, academic rigor, and the appreciation of authorship.

Our editorial services include:

- Submission of individual chapters, thematic e-book proposals, or complete manuscripts

- Rigorous peer review (closed model for books and open model for journals)

- Automated translation with optional human revision

- Professional layout and multilingual editing

- Metadata in up to six languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, and Mandarin

- Individual DOI per chapter or article

- Creative Commons licensing (CC BY-NC 4.0 for e-books; CC BY 4.0 for journals)

- 100% digital publication, free and accessible worldwide

Open Peer Review and Linguistic Inclusiveness

At Scientia, we recognize the centrality of language in the production and circulation of knowledge. Therefore, we adopt a multilingual editorial policy:

- Scientific journals publish all articles in Portuguese, Spanish, and English, accepting submissions in any language and automatically translating accepted texts.

- Scientific e-books are published in a bilingual version, with mandatory translation into one of the three main languages: Portuguese, Spanish, or English.

- Editorial metadata (title, abstract, keywords) are always provided in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, and Mandarin.

In addition, journals follow an open peer review model, with authors and reviewers identified and reviews published alongside the final article — strengthening transparency, academic dialogue, and scientific ethics.

Government Recognition

Scientia International was selected in the first quarter of 2025 for the Startup Acceleration Program, an initiative of the EOI Foundation, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, as part of Spain's Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan.

As part of this initiative, Scientia receives direct support from Telefónica and Wayra, its official accelerator, through a structured acceleration process that connects tech startups to a global innovation ecosystem. This partnership reinforces Scientia’s position as a platform of international impact in open science.
