Synopsis

This essay discusses the process of political organization and theoretical elaboration of communists in colonial and semicolonial countries during the 1920s. It examines the influence of the 1917 Russian Revolution and the founding of the Communist International in 1919 on debates concerning national liberation, anti-imperialism, and revolutionary strategy. Based on the analysis of documents approved by the Communist International and specialized bibliography, the text explores how communist organizations addressed the specific conditions of countries subjected to imperialist domination.
