Call for Editorial Leaders: Join Scientia International as an Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editor

2025-10-24

Scientia International, an innovative Spanish–Brazilian open-access publisher, is expanding its International Committee of Scientific Editors (ICSE). We are seeking qualified researchers for two complementary roles: the strategic leadership position of Editor-in-Chief and the collaborative role of Associate Editor.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of open science, promote multilingual scholarship (PT/ES/EN), and work with a publisher committed to transparency, diversity, and academic excellence.

Opportunity 1 — Editor-in-Chief (EIC)

Are you a visionary leader ready to guide a journal to international relevance? We invite established researchers (doctoral degree or equivalent standing) to take on a compensated, high-responsibility role with autonomy to:

  • Define the journal’s scientific direction and scope;

  • Build and lead an international Editorial Board;

  • Safeguard editorial quality, ethics, and integrity;

  • Act as a strategic partner in Scientia International’s mission.

Compensation and strategic benefits (phased model)

  • €1,200 Launch Bonus upon completion of initial implementation goals;

  • Guaranteed quarterly honorarium ranging from €400 to €2,000 as the journal matures;

  • Performance bonuses for key milestones (e.g., Scopus/Web of Science indexing);

  • 5% share of the journal’s annual net revenue upon consolidation.

Full policy and details (including Phases 1/2/3 and definitions) are available in the accordion on our website:

Opportunity 2 — Associate Editor (ICSE)

Are you an active researcher eager to contribute your expertise to peer review? Join the ICSE as an Associate Editor. This honorific (non-paid) role is vital to our operations and offers a flexible way to serve the scientific community. You will:

  • Manage peer-review workflows for assigned manuscripts;

  • Select and invite qualified reviewers;

  • Uphold rigor, transparency (open peer review), and ethical conduct;

  • Gain editorial experience and expand your international network.

Rewards and recognition (APC benefits)

  • Manage 8 articles/year → Certificate + 50% APC discount;

  • Manage 12 articles/year or organise a thematic issue → Certificate + full APC waiver for one article in the following year.
